Really found a gem in this place! Enjoyed the talented people who performed on open mike night (Tuesdays) and the flatbread Brie pizza and Portobello mushroom panini was absolutely delicious!! Great people, great service! Only criticism is that I was without cash and was not able to leave a tip via my credit card. I'll be sure to double up the next visit!

Great atmosphere and super entertainment! Wide variety of people that changes from day to night. Just a great place in the neighborhood.

Coffee is great and the atmosphere is perfect, but the food is lacking big time. The menu has a number of items that sound amazing - if fresh ingredients and a little care/thought was put into the cooking. We got the chips and "homemade" salsa, which was essentially Tostidos and a jar of store-bought salsa. Then we got the veggie panini and the goat cheese special pizza. Both were tasty but the ingredients (tomato, asparagus, wheat bread, flatbread) were not fresh and had very little flavor. Overall I was unimpressed and would not eat there again. I would return for the atmosphere and great drinks offered.

Stopped in today with my 5 year old for a quick lunch and coffee. I have been here one other time for breakfast with my dad and I was obviously pleased enough to return. I had the "grown up" gourmet grilled cheese which came with chips and a pickle as the "side". I wasn't sure what to expect for the side since it wasn't listed. No idea what kind of chips these were... maybe sour cream & onion, kettle-cooked and they were surprisingly pretty good. The sandwich itself, while not exactly fancy or gourmet, was very delicious. The blend of cheeses were the perfect choice. The pesto was an excellent addition to the creamy cheeses, juicy tomato, crisp scallions, and crunchy bread. My daughter had a cup of the soup of the day, which was corn chowder, along with a side of grilled garlic bread strips for dipping. I wasn't sure how a 5 year old would feel about this choice but she demolished all of it and declared it was delicious. Not sure if this was a homemade soup but it seemed to be and was very tasty. She also had a mango smoothie which was a nice treat with the perfect amount of flavor, and I had an iced "All Nighter". First trip I ordered this hot and it was great. Second time, today, it was ordered iced and it was just as good. Next time I might ask for a little more of the vanilla flavoring as a preference but it was a solid hit. The young man who waited on us was the best part of our visit. He was friendly, kind, and accommodating. Generally speaking, employees aren't always enthusiastic about serving little ones and I wasn't sure how he would react to my talkative 5-year-old. He smartly suggested an option for a smaller portion for her than what I ordered and also suggested to-go cups (with LIDS!) in case we needed to make a quick get-away or had an tip-over. The service, compared to "fast-food" or chain places is a tad on the slow side but it was the amount of time I expected for a coffee shop so I have no complaints there. It was timely especially considering we ordered a meal. Overall experience, fantastic. I will go again, maybe in the evening next time. Thanks for a great visit!

Love this place! Super cute and trendy. Excellent cappuccino! Good pastry selection. Fun open mic nights. They even have a decent well, draft, and wine selection. I would definite recommend this place to anyone looking for a coffee shop to call their regular place!

When it comes to coffee, Cool Beanz deserves a solid 5 stars. But thanks to slow service nearly any time of the day, it makes it hard to want to come here. I'm a coffee fan and I'd love to support a local shop versus a chain but the hours and slow service make driving out of my way to a Starbucks a better option than stopping here for my morning coffee.

A great college coffee shop. The wifi is strong (get a code with a purchase). Service can be a little slow sometimes, but always friendly. The food is outstanding. There's a variety of seating options. Crash on the couch, sit up at the bar, pull up to a table, or take the patio seating outside. Live music is a great addition, and there are great craft beers, wines and local spirits. Really, I can't say enough good about this Rock Island gem in a great little neighborhood.

Friendly service, great atmosphere, and a really nice Peppermint White Mocha... Unlike your standard fair, this location is ecelctic and pays attention to detail. I witnessed no hipster coffee snobs and was greated with a smile. Where as Starbucks seating tends to remind me of McDonalds, here they have utilized different heights of seating which allows a feeling of privacy. Certainly my drink was not served in a paper cup nor simply coffee in a mug. Rather, it came with a leaf design for myself and a heart for my gal, as you would expect from such an establishment. Sorry Starbucks and Dunn Bros... you're fired.

Cool Beanz is the ultimate college town local coffee house. I have yet to try a coffee I don't like. The staff is outgoing and pretty cool. The space is nice to study in or to chill and chat with friends. Their food is pretty good, but the drinks are the best.

I've been to Cool Beanz several times and I've come away impressed each time. The lattes are great and the presentation is exceptional. The breakfast food is great as well. The menu is diverse and you can actually come here for a meal and leave feeling full, which is atypical of the other coffee shops in the area. I have two minor gripes. First, it gets a little pricey if you order breakfast. Second, sometimes the clientele seems uppity. Other than that, this is the place to be for coffee and breakfast.

I've had a specialty espresso drink and an iced coffee here. Both were pleasant experiences. I'll update this review once I've had some food and some regular coffee. Good atmosphere, plenty of tables. It can feel kind of cramped when there's a lot of people around, but this is a college coffee bar, not the Opera House. Baristas are friendly and have some character to them. There's an open mic night I haven't been around to experience, but hopefully some night I'll make it there. Wish it were closer to where I live!

I've been here once for coffee, which was delicious, and once for a meal, which I would also highly recommend. Nice, clean, coffeehouse/cafe. Small menu, soups, sandwiches, some pastries as well as coffee, tea and a selection of beer (maybe wine too, but I didn't see it). Wifi password available when you order, which is nice. The place is chill, with a hangout type of vibe. Couches, fireplace, and a stage for (apparently) live performance. The gourmet grilled cheese was lovely, toasty and went well with a cup of green tea. There are a few tables outside as well, and there were bowls outside for dogs, so would be a great place to bring a dog for a bit of socialization in this cool area of town.

Great coffee, great environment and the food is delicious. I had a great experience here and will be back.

I had a 16oz house blend and I think it was the best cup I've ever had. The service, although very friendly, seemed a bit chaotic. I wondered why I had to wait a few minutes just because they were making another customer soup. Could have been a fluke and I'll definitely try it again.

Cool Beanz is probably the best place for under-21's to hang out in the Augustana area. They have live music there at least once a week, and the staff are really nice. They're now serving wine and beer, I'm told, so those wishing to partake in mild drinking are probably going to want to check it out.

I would say Cool Beanz has some of the best coffee in the QC, I always order a 16 oz iced latte with 2 Splenda and a chocolate muffin! if my kids are with me I have to order 2 of each because they will drink my coffee & eat the muffin faster than I do! The staff is great, the atmosphere is a nice mix of all ages.

Love the staff and food and drink here. I was always a Starbucks girl until I started going here and I love it. I am an avid fan and come in at least 4 days a week. So happy the place is making it in Rock Island.

Great little place for a sandwich, some soup and a cup of coffee. I've only been once, but I'll be back. Literally the cleanest restroom I've ever used. I know they have wi-fi, but what's the password? ** UPDATE ** The wi-fi password, I'm told, is printed on the receipt. Next time I'll look at my receipt!

This place has a great vibe and an awesome cup of coffee. The atmosphere is great and the service was friendly. I could definitely spend some time hanging out in here.

Been to this place 3 times. The first visit it took 15 minutes for 2 lattes and a sandwich. Second visit I thought I would simplify my order to a latte and an Americano, it still took 15 minutes. This morning I simplified it even further to 2 brewed coffees and it took 20 minutes - I will not be returning.

This is my favorite coffee house in the Quad Cities. Excellent house blend; mild but flavorful. Menu includes panini's, wraps, salads, breakfast, pastries, etc. Tuna Melt and Gourmet Grilled Cheese are both very good. Free WiFi and homey atmosphere. The owner and employees are very friendly and make you feel you are appreciated. It's right next to Augustana College.
